Who would consider Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that is considered by people who do not like the shape and appearance of their nose. A person may want to reshape their nose. Some people may also have associated breathing difficulties that they would like improved.
What does a Rhinoplasty procedure involve?
Rhinoplasty surgery is usually performed through a small incision underneath the nose tip, and on the inside of the nostrils. The nasal bones and cartilage framework are then altered to give the desired appearance.
What results can I expect following Rhinoplasty surgery?
The aim is to improve the size and shape of your nose so that your facial features are in better proportion. After surgery you will have a nasal splint that remains on for the first week. Initial bruising and swelling settles within 2-3 weeks. Mild swelling may persist for longer. Most people return to normal activities after 2-3 weeks. The final result may take several months to be achieved.
